A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Bay of Bengal early on Tuesday. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported the quake, which occurred at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter was located at 93.37°E longitude and 6.82°N latitude. Following this, a 6.5 magnitude earthquake hit the Nicobar Islands region around 12:12 am IST on Tuesday. The epicenter of the second quake was roughly 259 km west-northwest of Sabang in Aceh, Indonesia. Authorities have stated that the powerful earthquake did not trigger a tsunami alert. Social media discussions included observations about the timing of the second quake and expressions of concern for those in affected areas.
