
A Special MP/MLA Court in Karnataka has convicted former MP Prajwal Revanna in a rape case. The conviction relates to the rape of a domestic help, with the court finding him guilty in one of the cases filed against him. The court has scheduled the sentencing for August 2nd. Prosecutor Ashok Nayak reported the conviction and emphasized the swift nature of the trial. He noted the examination of 26 prosecution witnesses and the role of digital evidence in uncovering the truth. The case was based on a complaint from a victim in K R Nagar, Mysore, resulting in charges under the IPC and IT Act. The SIT’s investigation resulted in a detailed charge sheet. Revanna was arrested in May 2024 upon his return to the country and has remained in judicial custody since then.
