
Rajgir, Bihar, is preparing to host the Asia Rugby Under-20 Sevens Championship 2025 on August 9th and 10th. This prestigious event will feature eight men’s and eight women’s teams from top rugby nations in Asia. Participating countries include India, Hong Kong, China, the UAE, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia (men), and Nepal (women). The tournament will showcase the skills of the best young rugby players from across the continent. Teams are scheduled to arrive in Rajgir starting August 7th. The opening ceremony will take place on August 8th at the Rajgir Sports Complex, celebrating Bihar’s culture and sporting spirit. Only the top teams from the 32 rugby-playing nations in Asia will participate in this championship. The event underscores Bihar’s growing commitment to sports, with rugby as one of the 14 priority sports. The Bihar women’s team recently earned a silver medal at the National Games, and the state’s school teams have also achieved significant victories. Players from Bihar will represent the Indian team in the tournament, inspiring young athletes.
