A devastating incident unfolded in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Saturday night, as a mother and her two children were found dead in their apartment, appearing to be a case of suicide. The incident occurred in the Nageshwar Enclave apartment complex, located in the Choria Toli area of Latma Road, under the jurisdiction of the Jagannathpur police station. The police have taken the bodies into their possession and sent them for a post-mortem examination. The deceased individuals have been identified as Sanyukta Singh and her two minor children. The children consisted of a son, approximately 14 years old, and a daughter, around 12 years old. Sanyukta Singh was separated from her husband, Brijesh Singh. The couple had a history of disputes, with a legal case pending in court. Brijesh Singh was residing in Bihar, while Sanyukta resided in the apartment in Ranchi with her children. According to local accounts, the couple was experiencing both domestic disagreements and financial struggles. It is believed that Sanyukta took the drastic step with her children as a result of these difficulties. The tragic discovery occurred late Saturday when Brijesh Singh came to the flat with provisions for his children. When he could not get a response, he contacted the neighbors and the police. The Jagannathpur police arrived at the scene and forced entry into the apartment. Inside, they discovered Sanyukta Singh and her children hanging in the bedroom. The police secured the location and called in the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) team to investigate. The FSL team collected evidence from the scene and sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination. The police investigation is ongoing, and preliminary findings point towards suicide due to domestic issues and financial constraints. The entire area is in mourning following the incident, and local residents are deeply affected. The police are currently questioning Brijesh Singh and his family to determine the definitive cause of the suicide.
