The second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) commenced poorly for Old Delhi 6, suffering an 82-run defeat against Outer Delhi Warriors in their opening game. Amidst the loss, a young player stood out, showcasing his talent. The young all-rounder Uddhav Mohan excelled in his debut, taking 5 wickets and earning considerable attention in his first DPL appearance.
Uddhav Mohan’s Remarkable Debut
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Uddhav Mohan’s bowling performance captured the attention of everyone. He bowled 4 overs, conceding only 26 runs, and secured 5 key wickets. His fast and accurate deliveries troubled the Outer Delhi Warriors’ batsmen. However, Old Delhi 6 lost the match due to a lack of support from the other players. Uddhav’s bowling allowed Old Delhi 6 to restrict Outer Delhi Warriors to 148 runs. Despite this, Old Delhi 6 could only manage a score of 66 runs.
Connection to Virat Kohli
Uddhav Mohan is in the spotlight, partly due to his association with Virat Kohli. Uddhav is from the West Delhi Cricket Academy (WDCA), which served as the initial training ground for Virat Kohli, a legend of Indian cricket. Kohli’s career began at this academy, and Uddhav now emerges as a promising talent from the same institution. Trained by Kohli’s coach, Rajkumar Sharma, Uddhav serves as an inspiration.
Selected for the Indian Team’s Australia Tour
Uddhav Mohan has secured a spot in India’s Under-19 team and is preparing to demonstrate his skills during the upcoming tour of Australia next month. He was also highly sought after during the Delhi Premier League auction, where Old Delhi 6 acquired his services for Rs 6.60 lakh.
