
Maruti Suzuki’s Baleno is a prominent model in the Indian market, especially in the premium hatchback segment. Its demand continues to grow, and it comes equipped with safety features, including six airbags. It received a 4-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. In July 2025, the Baleno achieved sales of 12,600 units, exceeding sales of the Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz. The ex-showroom price of the car is ₹6.70 lakh. The car saw significant sales during the first ten months of the fiscal year 2025. Between April 2024 and January 2025, a total of 1,39,324 units were sold. The Baleno is powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder K12N petrol engine, which produces 83 bhp. There is an option of a 1.2-liter dual jet petrol engine that delivers 90 bhp. It is available with manual and automatic transmission options. The Baleno CNG version features a 1.2-liter dual jet petrol engine. Additional features of the Baleno include a 360-degree camera (available only on the Alpha trim), seat belts with hill hold assist, brake assist, ISOFIX anchorage, and other safety features. The 2025 Maruti Baleno lineup will feature the 1.2-liter petrol engine, providing 90 bhp, with options of a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The hatchback also offers a factory-fitted CNG kit, available in the Delta and Zeta trims. The Baleno is equipped with a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro Plus touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), hill-start assist, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, a reversing camera, and rear parking sensors.
