The upcoming groundbreaking ceremony for the Mata Sita temple in Punora Dham, Sitamarhi, Bihar, is generating considerable excitement, with extensive preparations underway. The ceremony, scheduled for Friday, promises to be a grand event, graced by the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with esteemed religious figures. The scale of the event highlights its importance.
A 50-acre plot of land has been secured for the comprehensive development of the temple complex. The overall cost for this project is projected to be 165.57 crore rupees. A majestic temple, reaching a height of 151 feet, will be built on this acquired land. Furthermore, the state government has approved a total budget of 882.87 crore rupees to ensure the complete development of the temple and its surrounding infrastructure.
The construction of the temple and associated facilities is planned to be completed within a period of 11 months. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation will oversee the construction process. Construction activities will commence promptly following the groundbreaking ceremony, which will be led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The temple complex will also incorporate a variety of tourist amenities.
The planned facilities encompass a temple perimeter, a pilgrim assistance center, an auditorium, guest accommodations, the Mata Janaki Kund Ghat, a community kitchen, the temple entrance, public conveniences, a ritual hall, a tourism information center, tensile shading structures, an e-cart station, facilities for offerings and food preparation, a museum, a devotional music venue, a Mithila market, a Vedic school and library, a cafeteria and dining area, a pilgrim dormitory, and temple road infrastructure including pathways and parking. Punora Dham is considered a highly sacred pilgrimage destination for Hindus.
