Gary Kirsten, who coached India to their 2011 World Cup victory, has shared a surprising revelation about his most cherished memory from his coaching stint. In a recent discussion, Kirsten looked back on his time with the Indian team from 2008 to 2011. He surprisingly selected the Mohali Test of 2010, during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, as a greater highlight than the 2011 World Cup triumph. Kirsten highlighted the crucial partnership between VVS Laxman and Ishant Sharma during the Mohali Test. He also applauded Gautam Gambhir’s recent coaching achievements. The Mohali Test, part of the 2010–11 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, saw India win by one wicket against Australia, with Laxman and Ishant’s partnership proving decisive. Despite Laxman’s injury, their combined effort sealed a memorable comeback for India.
