Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj Party, has accused Bihar’s BJP of being more corrupt than RJD leader Lalu Yadav. Kishor’s accusations specifically target Health Minister Mangal Pandey and claim he has been working with Dilip Jaiswal, the current state BJP head.
Kishor pointed to the alleged overpricing of ambulances procured by the health department, stating that the cost was significantly higher than in other states.
He alleged that Pandey helped Jaiswal by granting a medical college in Kishanganj deemed university status. Kishor stated that Jaiswal transferred 25 lakh rupees to Pandey’s father, which was used to buy a flat in Delhi. Jaiswal allegedly signed as a witness on the property documents.
Kishor questioned why Pandey didn’t disclose the alleged loan from Jaiswal in his election affidavit.
Kishor argued that while the BJP criticizes Lalu Prasad, their own leaders are more corrupt. He cited instances of alleged corruption including the fodder scam and land for jobs.
Kishor demanded an explanation from Pandey and Jaiswal concerning the financial transactions. Neither responded to requests for comment.
Kishor also referenced a court order in Rajasthan, which found another BJP leader, Jibesh Mishra, guilty of producing fake medicine. Kishor mentioned that the leader remains in the cabinet, despite demands for his resignation.
Kishor expressed his disappointment with the current political climate, referencing an incident where a Bihari laborer was brutally assaulted in Haryana, demanding justice and accountability. He criticized the Haryana police for not yet arresting the accused.
