Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR are set to star together for the first time in ‘War 2,’ a film within the YRF spy universe. The film’s release has been highly anticipated. On August 6th, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted ‘War 2’ a U/A 16+ certificate. This certification means the film is suitable for audiences aged 16 and above, with parental guidance advised for those under 16. The CBFC made alterations to the film before issuing the certificate.
Reports indicate that there were no modifications made to the action sequences. However, some other scenes and audio-visual components needed adjustment. The filmmakers were instructed to mute inappropriate content in six different places in the audio and visuals. An offensive dialogue was also replaced with a more appropriate one. A two-second gesture was also removed, as it was deemed objectionable by the CBFC. Furthermore, the board requested that the sensual scenes be reduced by 50 percent, which equates to around nine seconds of the film. Speculations suggest that these removals involve Kiara Advani’s scenes from the ‘Aavan Jaavan’ song.
‘War 2’, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is scheduled to release in theaters on August 14, 2025. The film has a budget of 200 crore rupees. Hrithik Roshan was the lead in the original ‘War’ released in 2019. ‘War 2’ marks the debut of Jr. NTR in Hindi cinema, and he will be seen in a negative role.
