Composer Viju Shah shared insights into his work on Hansal Mehta’s crime thriller, ‘Chhal’. He described his initial collaboration with Mehta and the other members of the project, including producer Nitin Patil, lyricist Amitabh Varma, recording engineer Tanay Gajjar, and singer K.K. Shah found the entire experience to be enjoyable. Despite not being a musical, ‘Chhal’ incorporated a significant amount of music. He recalled K.K.’s enthusiasm and the contributions of singers Asha Bhosle, Alka Yagnik, Sadhana Sargam, and Shaan. Furthermore, Javed Ali sang an alaap in one of the songs. Shah also appreciated working on the background score. The film also served as the debut for actors Kay Kay Menon and Prashant Narayan. Shah recounted a story that showcased Asha Bhosle’s dedication: she climbed four flights of stairs to record her vocals when the elevator was out of order.
