The city of Darwin in Northern Australia hosted a few international matches about 21-22 years ago. However, international cricket did not return to that venue. A new stadium, the Marrara Oval, was later built in the city. The stadium has hosted some matches at the Under-19 level. This venue is significant as it is set to become the only hub for international cricket in Northern Australia. The pitch conditions at this new venue will be a challenge for Australia, just as it will be for South Africa. Notably, a drop-in pitch will be used, a common feature in Australian stadiums.
