This call preceded a planned meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, scheduled for August 15th, which is expected to address the Ukrainian conflict. Zelenskyy announced the conversation on X, mentioning that they explored issues related to their bilateral collaboration and the overall diplomatic situation. He conveyed his gratitude for the Prime Minister’s backing of the Ukrainian people. PM Modi responded on X as well, indicating his pleasure in conversing with Zelenskyy and understanding his views on the recent developments. Modi reaffirmed India’s position on the need for a peaceful resolution and India’s commitment to further cooperation with Ukraine.
