Shah Rukh Khan’s fans face a longer wait for the release of ‘King,’ as production has been stalled due to an injury sustained by the actor. After a series of successful films in 2023, Khan focused on ‘King,’ which began filming in June. While earlier reports indicated a potential release in October 2026, current reports suggest a delay until 2027. The injury to Khan’s shoulder has led to the pause in filming. The film features a substantial cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Abhay Verma, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Raghav Juyal, alongside Khan and his daughter Suhana. The delay stems from the need to ensure Khan’s well-being, as the film’s action sequences necessitate his full health. The shooting has been put on hold, and Khan requires a break. Originally, a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release was considered, but this has been pushed back. Filming had commenced in Mumbai with plans for international shoots. The release is now anticipated in either late 2026 or 2027, although no official confirmation has been made by the filmmakers.
