After the West Indies won the ODI series against Pakistan, former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has strongly criticized Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. The pair’s poor batting displays in the final two matches of the series, where Pakistan lost, were key factors in the defeat. Ali went as far as to suggest that Azam and Rizwan should pursue advertising opportunities rather than continue playing cricket, as they are no longer performing up to expectations. The final match saw Pakistan collapse to 92 all out. Azam scored nine runs, and Rizwan failed to get off the mark. Ali accused them of not heeding the coaches’ advice and simply pretending to listen. During the series, Babar Azam scored 56 runs at an average of 18.66 and a strike rate of 62.22. Mohammad Rizwan scored 69 runs with an average of 23 and a strike rate of 63.88. Their recent performances in ODI cricket have been disappointing.
