Bobby Deol’s career has seen a resurgence, particularly after his villainous role in ‘Animal.’ He made a strong debut with ‘Barsaat’ in 1995. However, his career experienced a period where several films underperformed. The film ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo’ presented a significant ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, yet it did not achieve box office success.
The film united Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, and Amitabh Bachchan. It was released in December 2004 and directed by Anil Sharma. The cast included Divya Khosla, Sandali Sinha, and Nagma, in addition to Danny Denzongpa, Ashutosh Rana, and Govind Namdev.
The film’s production budget was ₹20 crore. Its domestic collection was ₹11.56 crore, and the worldwide collection totaled ₹19.16 crore. This performance rendered the film a box office disappointment.
In contrast, the film ‘Animal,’ released in 2023, featured Bobby Deol in the role of the villain Abrar Haque. The film, which also starred Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, earned over ₹900 crore globally, setting new box office benchmarks.
