
Following his meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, former US President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin would meet to negotiate a ceasefire, with the ultimate decision now in Zelensky’s hands. Trump expressed his belief that Zelensky should continue the dialogue initiated in Alaska and secure a deal to end the ongoing conflict. Trump stressed that Zelensky would need to compromise, acknowledging Russia’s dominance. Trump also noted his availability to attend the meeting if both leaders requested his presence. In Alaska, Trump said the decision rested with President Zelensky, and that he would advise European countries to participate. He confirmed he would be present at the next meeting if requested. Trump urged Zelensky to negotiate a settlement to end the war, anticipating a meeting involving Zelensky, Putin, and himself. Putin announced that the next meeting would be in Moscow.
