
Patna police engaged in an encounter with the notorious criminal Vijay Sahani, resulting in his injury. The incident occurred near the Biscomaun Golambar in the Alamganj police station area on Sunday night. Sahani sustained gunshot wounds to his left leg and was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical care. The police also recovered two weapons from the criminal.
According to the police, Sahani resided in Asochak, under the Ramkrishna Nagar police station area. Authorities received information that he was planning to commit two significant crimes. Acting on this information, officers from Alamganj, Malsalami, and the STF apprehended Sahani. During interrogation, Sahani revealed the location of weapons he had concealed near the Biscomaun Golambar in the Alamganj police station area.
When the police took him to the location to recover the weapons, Sahani allegedly opened fire on the officers. The police retaliated in self-defense, injuring Sahani in the leg. Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma, City SP Parichay Kumar, and DSP Rajkishore Singh arrived at the scene to investigate. The SSP stated that Sahani had more than 20 criminal cases registered against him, including charges of murder, robbery, and dacoity. It was also revealed that Sahani operated as a contract killer and had extended his criminal activities to the states of Odisha and Jharkhand.
