The Buchi Babu 2025 tournament has begun. Hosted by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, the tournament is scheduled from August 18th to September 9th. Sixteen teams are participating in the tournament, divided into four groups. In a first-round match at the Guru Nanak College B Ground, between TNCA XI and Mumbai, Sarfaraz Khan, a prominent Indian batsman, scored an impressive century, drawing everyone’s attention.
Sarfaraz Khan hit this explosive century while batting at number five. He came to bat when Mumbai had lost three wickets for 98 runs. Khan then took over, managing the team’s innings and scoring a rapid century. He reached 100 runs in just 92 balls, including nine fours and three sixes. This innings is significant for Sarfaraz Khan, especially considering he was not selected for the Indian Test team’s England tour recently.
Sarfaraz Khan has also been in the news due to his fitness. After not being chosen for the Indian team, he worked hard on his fitness. He shocked everyone by losing almost 17 kilograms in about a month and a half. This is his first match after reducing weight, and he made a good impression in this match. Sarfaraz Khan is now aiming to secure his place in the home Test series against the West Indies.
Sarfaraz Khan’s younger brother, Musheer Khan, is also playing for Mumbai in this tournament. However, he couldn’t perform well in the initial innings. Musheer Khan could score only 30 runs from 75 balls in the first innings of the match. He got a decent start but couldn’t convert it into a substantial score.
