An FIR has been registered against a Deputy Collector in Balod district, Chhattisgarh, following a rape complaint lodged by a female constable. Daundi police are investigating the allegations, and the arrest of the Deputy Collector is expected soon.
The Deputy Collector, Dilip Uike, is originally from the Daundi block but is currently stationed in Bijapur district. The female constable from the CAF alleged that Uike had been exploiting her, claiming he promised marriage while engaging in sexual relations with her for about a year. When he went back on his word to marry her, she reported the matter to the Daundi police station.
The police have begun their investigation after registering the FIR. The authorities are looking into the case and an arrest may follow.
In other news, Uike was involved in a car accident eight months prior, where a person lost their life. Moreover, he was removed from his position as in-charge CEO of Bhopalpatnam Janpad by the Bijapur Collector three months ago, after serving in the post for more than a year.
ASP Monika Thakur confirmed the filing of the FIR and the ongoing investigation. The complaint alleges the officer engaged in physical relations with the woman for a year, under the promise of marriage.
