A devastating accident on the national highway in Rajnandgaon resulted in the death of nine animals after a truck struck them. The incident occurred late at night near the Indamara intersection. According to initial reports, the cattle were resting on the road near a ढाबा when the speeding truck, while attempting to pass another vehicle, collided with them. The collision caused immediate fatalities among the cows and calves. The accident took place around 2:30 AM. The magnitude of the truck’s speed was evident as the animals were dragged some distance after the impact. Upon learning of the event, CSP Pushpendra Nayak and a team from the municipal corporation immediately went to the site. The deceased cattle were respectfully buried. Law enforcement is currently investigating the incident by analyzing CCTV footage to identify the truck and its driver.
