Maruti Suzuki’s compact SUV, the Fronx, has achieved a significant milestone, with its production exceeding 500,000 units. The Fronx, which launched in March 2023, has quickly gained favor with customers. It’s not just in India where the Fronx is in demand; it’s also highly sought after in international markets. Exports have recently surpassed 100,000 units. A particularly interesting fact is that one Fronx out of every five produced in India is exported.
The Fronx is the first SUV made in India that has been exported to Japan. Furthermore, it was the most exported passenger car from India in FY2024-25. In the domestic market, it’s consistently ranked among the top 10 selling cars. The Fronx’s growth has been remarkably swift. It reached the 1 lakh production mark by December 2023, followed by 2 lakhs in June 2024, 3 lakhs by November 2024, and 4 lakhs by February 2025. The company achieved the 5 lakh milestone in July 2025.
