The upcoming ODI series between Australia and South Africa sees Australia dealing with considerable setbacks due to player retirements and injuries. The departures of Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Marcus Stoinis have diminished the team’s experience and leadership core. Moreover, injuries to Matt Short and Lance Morris, alongside Mitchell Owen’s concussion, have created further hurdles. Mitchell Marsh will lead the Australian squad, as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are also sidelined. South Africa comes into the series with a nearly complete squad, aiming to leverage their team’s stability. Temba Bavuma will captain the South African team, with David Miller being unavailable. The Proteas boast a strong batting lineup with Aiden Markram, Dewald Brevis, and Ryan Rickelton, while Kagiso Rabada spearheads the pace attack, supported by Wiaan Mulder and Corbin Bosch. The first ODI is scheduled for August 19th at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns, starting at 10 AM IST, with the toss at 9:30 AM IST. The match will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network and streamed on JioHotstar.
