Prime Minister Narendra Modi is actively seeking support from the opposition for the NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate, CP Radhakrishnan. Highlighting the significance of the upcoming election for the new Rajya Sabha chairman through a general committee, Modi also stated that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is in continuous communication with leaders from various political parties. Modi described CP Radhakrishnan as an exemplary and seasoned public servant, known for his humility and absence of any controversy, and he urged all parties to demonstrate unity in supporting his candidacy. This appeal follows the BJP Parliamentary Board’s recent nomination of Radhakrishnan, which has been welcomed by numerous NDA leaders; however, the opposition India Bloc has yet to announce its decision. Following the NDA’s Parliamentary Party meeting, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju shared that Prime Minister Modi appealed to all MPs, including those from the Opposition, to back CP Radhakrishnan in the Vice Presidential elections.
