
To build excitement for the Hero Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to be held in Rajgir, Bihar, from August 29 to September 7, a trophy tour is making its way through all the districts of Bihar. The tour, which commenced on August 17, is aimed at spreading the fervor of hockey to every corner of the state. The tour will not only cover every district within Bihar but will also visit Chennai, Chandigarh (Punjab, Haryana), Delhi, Odisha, Assam, and Jharkhand. The primary goals of the tour are to ignite interest in hockey among young people, encourage a strong sporting culture, and secure widespread public participation in the historic event. After successful visits to Patna, Vaishali, and Bhojpur, the trophy tour reached Buxar, Muzaffarpur, and Motihari on Tuesday. Each district provided a warm welcome. In Buxar, the welcome ceremony at the Buxar Collectorate was attended by District Magistrate Dr. Vidyanand Singh and Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya, who spoke about the Asia Cup and its importance in Bihar. A large gathering of players and locals also enthusiastically welcomed the trophy and the visiting players. In Muzaffarpur, a welcome ceremony was organized at the Muzaffarpur Collectorate, attended by District Magistrate Subrat Sen, District Sports Officer Rajendra Kumar, physical education teachers Ram Kumar Rai and Karunesh Kumar, along with many players and residents. The District Magistrate played a symbolic game of hockey to motivate the players.
In Motihari, the trophy tour was welcomed at the sports building cum gymnasium. District Magistrate of Motihari, Saurabh Jorwal, District Sports Officer Shubham Kumar, and District Development Commissioner Saurabh Suman Yadav, along with players and local residents, participated in the trophy’s grand reception. District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal informed the attendees about the Hero Asia Cup in detail and encouraged players by symbolically playing hockey. The trophy tour is being received with great enthusiasm and excitement in every district. The trophy tour will arrive in Rajgir on August 29, after passing through all the districts of Bihar.
