Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari has mandated that all Deputy Commissioners finalize the auctions of commercial sand ghats by mid-September. The directive included instructions for comprehensive training of district officials to ensure a transparent auction process. This approach will facilitate the availability of sand at affordable prices, deter illicit practices, and limit the supply of sand from outside the state. The meeting with Deputy Commissioners also covered the importance of understanding auction procedures, conducting mock drills, and providing necessary support, including a helpline, to potential bidders.
