The monsoon season is active again in Chhattisgarh, bringing with it thunderstorms, lightning, and substantial rainfall. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for 14 districts of Chhattisgarh, including the capital Raipur, and other districts like Dhamtari, Bilaspur, Balrampur, Surajpur, Jashpur, Mahasamund, and Gariaband, predicting heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning. People in these districts are urged to take necessary precautions. The IMD anticipates a weakening of the monsoon in southern Chhattisgarh from today, leading to normal weather conditions in the region. Northern Chhattisgarh is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall over the next five days. Raipur has been experiencing cloudy conditions since Thursday morning, with intermittent drizzle contributing to a drop in the city’s temperature. Over the past 24 hours, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in several districts were: Raipur: 28.7°C (max) and 24.6°C (min); Bilaspur: 28.8°C (max) and 25.2°C (min); Ambikapur: 29.1°C (max) and 23.4°C (min); Jagdalpur: 27.6°C (max) and 23.0°C (min); Durg: 31.6°C (max) and 19.2°C (min). From June 1 to August 20, Chhattisgarh has received 787.7 mm of rainfall. Balrampur received the highest rainfall at 1145.3 mm, and Bemetara recorded the lowest at 390.6 mm.
