Peter Navarro, former White House trade advisor, has strongly criticized India’s role in the Ukraine war, accusing the country of prioritizing profit and closer ties with China’s Xi Jinping. He stated that India is profiting from the purchase of Russian oil. Navarro claimed that India’s current actions are detrimental to peace efforts and are, instead, escalating the conflict. He also accused India of not acknowledging its role in the conflict.
Navarro warned that the deadline for potential tariffs against India for purchasing Russian crude oil would not be extended. He stated that India does not need this oil, and the practice is a form of profiteering through refining. He emphasized that the money India earns through selling goods to the U.S. is used to buy Russian oil, which, in turn, helps Russia create weapons used to harm Ukrainians. He called this a very dangerous situation.
