The electric vehicle (EV) market in India is about to get a major boost. Several car manufacturers are planning to launch new electric SUVs in the next six months, timed to coincide with the upcoming festive season. Brands like Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and VinFast are strategically positioning themselves to capture the rising demand for EVs.

The assembly of these SUVs is already underway at the company’s Tamil Nadu plant, utilizing the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) approach. Both models are expected to offer a driving range exceeding 480 kilometers on a single charge. The company has begun accepting pre-orders for these SUVs, which are expected to come packed with advanced features.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is expected to make its debut soon, with production taking place in Gujarat for both domestic and international markets. The launch is anticipated in early 2026. This mid-size electric SUV will be available in Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants, offering buyers a range of choices. It could be equipped with either a 61.1 kWh or a 48.8 kWh battery pack, offering a range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge.
**Mahindra’s EV Expansion**
Mahindra is set to introduce the XEV 7e, its first three-row electric SUV, based on the XUV.e8 concept. The XEV 7e is expected to feature a triple-screen display, a panoramic sunroof, and ADAS technology similar to the XUV700. Mahindra is also working on the XUV 3XO EV, which is being tested and could be positioned below the XUV400. Both the XEV 7e and XUV 3XO EV are projected to be launched in the first half of 2026.
