Contrary to previous reports, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has refuted the existence of a planned meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky. This statement was made in response to former US President Donald Trump’s efforts to arrange a summit between the two presidents. Trump had indicated that he had initiated discussions with both Putin and Zelensky, envisioning a subsequent trilateral meeting. However, Lavrov stated that no meeting is planned. He noted that Putin is prepared to meet Zelensky once the summit agenda is ready. The Foreign Minister suggested that key sticking points include Ukraine’s potential NATO membership and territorial disputes, with Zelensky having reportedly dismissed these matters.
