The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition, an electric SUV inspired by The Dark Knight Trilogy, has achieved a stunning sales feat. The entire stock was completely sold out within a mere 2.5 minutes. Initially, only 300 units were offered; however, in response to immense customer demand, Mahindra increased production to 999 units. Despite the increase, these units were also quickly reserved.
The SUV’s rapid success is attributed to its striking design, Batman-themed styling, and limited edition appeal. This launch demonstrates not only a new direction for Mahindra in the electric segment but also the strong appetite for premium and themed electric vehicles within the Indian automotive market. All units were sold out within 135 seconds of the sales launch at 11:00 AM on August 23.
The BE 6 Batman Edition incorporates new cosmetic elements, enhancing the standard SUV version. It features a unique satin black exterior, custom Batman decals on the front doors, and “BE 6 × The Dark Knight” badging at the rear. For an aggressive appearance, it is equipped with new R20 alloy wheels, with the suspension components receiving an Alchemy Gold finish.
Interior features include the steering wheel, in-touch controller, and electronic parking brake, with the key fob also designed in Alchemy Gold. The bat symbol is featured on the “Boost” button, seatbacks, interior labels, and passenger-side dashboard pin stripe graphics. The Dark Knight theme also extends to the Batman Edition branding on racecar-inspired door straps, a Batman Edition welcome animation on the infotainment display, and custom exterior sounds designed to evoke the Batmobile.
Regarding its powertrain, the BE 6 Batman variant utilizes the Pack Three model with a 79 kWh battery pack. This enables the electric SUV to offer a range of up to 682 km on a single charge. The 59 kWh variant delivers 230 bhp, while the 79 kWh version produces 285 bhp, with both models generating 380 Nm of torque. The BE 6 supports 175 kW DC fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes.
