Automakers continuously refine their vehicle designs to keep their product lines fresh. Volkswagen is rumored to be preparing a redesigned T-Roc, with a leaked rendering showcasing a revised aesthetic. While the company has not provided any official information, the leaked drawing has led to speculation about a new T-Roc model.
The T-Roc was previously offered in India. Volkswagen sold the SUV from 2020 to 2021. At the time, the car was equipped with a 1.5 TSI engine, producing 148 Bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. It was imported to India as a CBU for a limited time, making it a rare vehicle. Volkswagen initially sold 1,000 units, and the car was discontinued after its second year in the Indian market.
Volkswagen has strategic plans to strengthen its presence in the Indian market with a series of new models. The recent sale of the Golf GTI has enhanced the brand’s image as a marque with a performance pedigree and a rich history, and it is possible that the new T-Roc will build on that reputation. The leaked sketches illustrate a completely new design philosophy compared to what we have seen from Volkswagen before. The front of the car incorporates sharp styling cues, reminiscent of the Lamborghini Urus. Additionally, the car features a sloping roofline that flows across the rear panel. The substantial C-pillar highlights the designers’ aim to give the car a more coupe-like appearance. Although Volkswagen has not confirmed the details, this could be a rendering that may never be realized, particularly in India. However, if it does come to fruition, it is likely to have considerable appeal.
