
Mahindra & Mahindra is set to introduce a significant update to the Thar (3-door) off-road SUV. The launch, originally slated for the first half of 2026, is now anticipated for September 2025. The upcoming model has been observed during testing, offering insights into its features. The 2025 Mahindra Thar will incorporate design elements and features from the Thar Rox. Exterior updates encompass a new grille with double-stacked slats, redesigned headlights, and a slightly modified bumper. The side profile is expected to remain mostly unchanged, with the exception of new alloy wheels. The rear will have a new bumper and updated tail lamps. New color options might be included. Inside, feature upgrades are expected. The 2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift will feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system with the latest UI, an updated digital instrument cluster, and a new electric steering wheel. Potential features include ventilated front seats (from the Thar Rox), wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, rear disc brakes, and a Level-2 ADAS suite. The engine options will stay the same: a 2.0-liter turbo petrol, a 1.5-liter turbo diesel, and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel. The petrol engine will produce a maximum of 152 bhp, while the diesel engines will generate 119 bhp and 130 bhp, respectively. The transmission options will include the 6-speed manual and the 6-speed automatic with a torque converter. Both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) systems will be available.
