
A recent phone call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finnish President Alexander Stubb centered on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the strengthening of India’s partnership with the EU. Discussions included ways to deepen cooperation in key sectors, including trade, technology, and sustainability, while also exchanging viewpoints on peaceful resolution efforts in Ukraine. Stubb highlighted the mutual interest in finding a just and enduring solution to the war, acknowledging India’s vital role. The two leaders also agreed on the importance of bolstering India-EU relations. This exchange occurs at a time when India is actively broadening its economic partnerships with European countries, particularly with the upcoming implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with the EFTA.
