Amidst challenging weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces successfully countered an infiltration attempt in the Gurez sector of Bandipora, eliminating two terrorists. Alongside this, a soldier was martyred while on duty in the Kupwara district. The Chinar Corps of the Army confirmed that the operation commenced based on intelligence about a potential infiltration. Soldiers on patrol noticed suspicious activity and confronted the intruders, which led to an exchange of gunfire. The soldiers retaliated, resulting in the deaths of two terrorists. The operation is still ongoing to ensure the area is clear of any further threats. The Army also acknowledged the sacrifice of a soldier who died while serving in Kupwara. The Chinar Corps acknowledged the bravery of Havaldar Iqbal Ali and expressed support for the bereaved family.
