A disturbing case has emerged from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where a man allegedly murdered his grand-nephew at the behest of a tantric. The victim, a 17-year-old, was dismembered, and his remains were discovered in different locations. Sharan Singh, the accused, was arrested in the Kareli area. Police investigations suggest that Singh was seeking a solution to personal difficulties, including the suicides of his children and the death of his brother. Singh admitted to the police that he was influenced by a tantric who claimed the grand-nephew should have died instead of his children. The tantric then advised Singh to commit a similar act to solve his issues. The grand-nephew, Piyush, was reported missing after leaving for school. The police located a torso in a drain, later finding the head, which led to identifying the body. The investigation used a witness account and CCTV footage to pinpoint Singh’s involvement, culminating in his arrest. The authorities are now searching for the tantric who allegedly instigated the crime.
