
During the voter rights yatra in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav announced his candidacy for the Chief Minister position in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, also participated in the yatra. Tejashwi Yadav criticized the current government. He then directly asked the public, “Do you want a duplicate CM or the original CM?” Akhilesh Yadav, addressing the rally, highlighted the national significance of the Bihar elections. He called for the removal of the BJP and its allies. He predicted that the current show of support would lead to the BJP’s defeat. He mentioned how BJP was previously defeated in Awadh, and urged the people of Magadh to do the same. He predicted the BJP’s exit from Bihar, accusing the party of exploitation and destruction. He accused the Election Commission of working in concert with the BJP. He lauded Tejashwi’s efforts in providing jobs to migrants. He stated that the India alliance will work to counter the BJP’s influence. He recalled Bihar’s history of obstructing the BJP. He pledged his full support for Tejashwi Yadav and highlighted the destruction caused to farmers due to the current administration’s policies.
