September 2025 is shaping up to be a busy month for the automotive industry, offering a variety of new cars for consumers. The period, leading up to the festive season, will see the launch of around five new cars. The launch schedule is set to kick off with Maruti and continue with the arrival of VinFast vehicles. Here’s a look at the cars expected to be launched in September 2025.
Maruti is set to introduce a new SUV, manufactured in India, designed to fit between the Brezza and Grand Vitara models. This SUV will be sold through Arena showrooms. Potential names for the new SUV include Escudo, Victorious, or Saber. While it may use Suzuki’s Global C platform, it will be modified for a longer wheelbase to provide greater cabin space.
VinFast, a Vietnamese EV company, will enter the Indian market with the VF6. Mass production of the VF6 has recently started at VinFast’s plant in Tamil Nadu. The VF6 SUV will come in two variants, offering six exterior color choices and two interior themes, depending on the variant selected.
VinFast is also planning to launch another electric SUV, the VF7, alongside the VF6. Both models were displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in early 2025. The VF7 will be offered in three variants with six exterior colors and two interior design themes.
Mahindra’s Thar 3-door model, launched in 2020, is due for a facelift. Mahindra will introduce the updated Thar in September 2025, including a new look and features. The updates will mirror the Thar Rox, featuring circular LED headlights and new alloy wheels. The new Thar is expected to include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch full-digital driver display, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS.
