
Russian forces reported the destruction of 112 Ukrainian drones within a single day, according to the Russian defence ministry. The attacks were aimed at port infrastructure, which was alleged to be serving military purposes. The Ukrainian Air Force indicated that the Russian assault involved a barrage of 598 drones and 31 missiles across Ukraine, with the capital city, Kyiv, bearing the brunt of the attack. The strikes affected approximately 33 areas across all 10 districts of Kyiv, causing widespread damage to various structures, including buildings and shopping centers.
A residential building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district was struck by missiles on August 27, resulting in significant loss of life. A total of 22 people, including four children, were killed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared details of the ongoing rescue efforts and extended his sympathies to the families impacted by the tragedy.
