The world is witnessing nature’s wrath. Following an earthquake in Afghanistan, the African nation of Sudan is now facing a catastrophic landslide. The Sudan Liberation Movement/Army confirmed that the landslide has claimed the lives of a minimum of 1,000 individuals. The devastation is extensive, with an entire village in the Marra mountain area of western Sudan being completely destroyed. This region is part of Darfur, and only one child survived.
The situation in Sudan is extremely serious. The group under the leadership of Abdelwahid Mohamed Nour stated that heavy rainfall triggered the landslide. The torrential rains on August 31st caused the landslide, which obliterated a village, burying it entirely. The movement/group has control in the Darfur region. They have requested assistance from the United Nations and international aid agencies. The landslide has resulted in the deaths of thousands, including men, women, and children.
