Following a 6.0 magnitude earthquake in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, the situation is dire, with over 800 fatalities and more than 2,500 injuries. Hospitals are overwhelmed, lacking sufficient doctors and medical supplies, complicating rescue operations. The Taliban has requested international aid to provide medical care and facilitate rescue operations.
Kunar province has been the epicenter of the devastation. One resident, Sadiqullah, spoke of the terrifying experience, including the rescue of his children and the tragic loss of his family. Another, Mohammadi, described the constant fear of aftershocks and the urgent need for ambulances and medical assistance.
