The Uttarakhand government has taken significant steps to support veterans and honor the families of fallen soldiers. Demobilized Agniveers will now benefit from a 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs, applicable to various uniformed positions such as constables, sub-inspectors, and fire officers. In addition to this, the state government has increased the ex-gratia amount for families of martyred soldiers to ₹50 lakh and will provide a government job to one family member.
