Pramod Yadav, a resident of Jimrahi, Ward number three, in the Narpatganj police station area, has been sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a 500,000-rupee fine by the Araria Exclusive Excise Court. This sentence was handed down by Special Judge Shefali Narayan on Tuesday for Yadav’s second conviction of alcohol trafficking. The court also stipulated that failure to pay the fine would result in an extra year of simple imprisonment. The case stemmed from an FIR filed by Police Inspector Chhote Lal Chauhan at the Narpatganj (Bathnaha) police station. Yadav had previously been convicted and sentenced to five years in prison and fined 100,000 rupees.
