Pakistan’s high-profile cricketers are enduring a difficult period in the UAE T20I tri-series. The batsmen have collectively struggled, failing to reach 100 runs across three games, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, the team’s star pace bowler, has been unable to take wickets effectively. Their performance levels are behind those of the players from Afghanistan and the UAE. Although Pakistan leads the series standings, their key batsmen and bowlers have not met expectations, and in contrast, Afghan and UAE players are displaying strong form.
Pakistan’s batting has been a significant concern in the UAE T20I tri-series, with no batsman reaching 100 runs. Sam Ayub has been the top scorer for Pakistan in the series, accumulating 83 runs in three matches, including one half-century.
Captain Salman Agha is second with 78 runs in three matches, with one fifty. Hasan Nawaz managed 74 runs across three matches. Mohammad Nawaz scored 58 runs and star batsman Fakhar Zaman has only 51 runs. Afghanistan and UAE batsmen, however, have performed well in the series.
Afghanistan and UAE batsmen have been the standout performers in this series. Afghanistan’s opener, Sediqullah Atal, has scored 141 runs in three matches, including two half-centuries. Another Afghan batsman, Ibrahim Zadran, has scored 137 runs in three matches, with two fifties.
UAE captain Muhammad Waseem has scored 78 runs in two matches, including a half-century. Pakistan’s struggles aren’t limited to their batting, as their star bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has also underperformed.
Shaheen Shah Afridi’s performance has been disappointing. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan’s star fast bowler, did not take any wickets in the fourth match against Afghanistan, conceding 27 runs in 4 overs. He has played two matches in the series, managing only two wickets. Afghanistan’s captain, Rashid Khan, leads the wicket-takers, having taken six wickets for just 77 runs in three matches.
UAE’s fast bowler Sagir Khan is in second place with 5 wickets in 2 matches. Afghanistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Nabi is third with 4 wickets in 3 matches. Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz is fifth with 4 wickets in 3 matches.
