The Victory Day parade in Beijing provided a stage for a historic gathering: Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, all in attendance. Xi Jinping took the opportunity to demonstrate China’s military capabilities and project himself as a global leader.
A bilateral meeting between Putin and Kim, which lasted more than an hour, took place after the parade, drawing international attention. The leaders focused on strengthening their ties.
Putin invited Kim Jong-un to visit Russia during their meeting in Beijing. After the talks concluded, Kim expressed his intention to meet again soon, prompting Putin to extend an invitation to Russia. The meeting was not simply ceremonial; Russian state media outlet TASS reported that the leaders had a private, undisclosed conversation for approximately an hour.
