An incident of extreme violence has occurred in the Shikharipara police station area of Dumka district, Jharkhand, where a man’s tongue was bitten off. The event reportedly transpired after a minor disagreement. The victim’s wife has lodged a complaint at the local police station, implicating a woman and several others. The police have taken the accused woman into custody, and an investigation is underway.
Jelenur Bibi, a resident of the area, has provided a written statement to the police, detailing that her husband, Laltu Sheikh, was the victim of the attack. She alleges that Kalavati Murmu, along with her husband and others, carried out the brutal act. The police have taken Murmu into custody to thoroughly investigate the situation.
Laltu Sheikh’s wife stated that her husband left for Ganpura Chowk on Tuesday evening but didn’t return. After an extensive search, he was found late at night, covered in blood. Through gestures, he indicated to his family that Kalavati Murmu and others were responsible for the violent attack.
Local sources indicate the victim has a history of alcohol abuse. It’s believed the altercation may have begun over money related to alcohol consumption at Murmu’s residence, where a disagreement escalated. The police are investigating the case, examining all possible factors that led to the incident.
