In a recent development, Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, has revealed his potential electoral choices for the upcoming elections in Bihar. Responding to media inquiries, Kishor indicated that if he were to contest, he would consider running from either Kargahar, his birthplace, or Raghopur, the constituency currently held by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. This announcement followed an interview where Kishor expressed his interest in participating in the elections. He clarified that while no formal decision had been made, if the party decided to field him, he would likely choose either Kargahar or Raghopur. Kishor was speaking in Karakat, approximately 120 km from the state’s capital. He elaborated that Kargahar, situated within the Sasaram Lok Sabha constituency in the Rohtas district, is his “birthplace,” while Raghopur is his “karmabhoomi,” signifying his field of activity, similar to the rest of Bihar. Kishor has previously hinted at contesting from Raghopur, which falls within the Vaishali district and is part of the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency, currently represented by Union Minister Chirag Paswan. Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD has been victorious in this seat twice, in 2015 and 2020. His father, Lalu Prasad, previously contested from Raghopur. Kishor also commented on a viral video showing Tejashwi Yadav celebrating the success of Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Rights Yatra. The yatra took place in 25 districts and covered over 1,300 kilometers. Kishor used the video to suggest that Tejashwi Yadav, who he said had failed in academics and cricket, was also failing in organizing a smaller event. It’s noteworthy that Kishor had previously worked with the RJD, JDU, and Congress coalition during the 2015 assembly elections. Addressing the Bihar bandh called by the NDA in response to the language used against PM Modi’s deceased mother, Kishor stated that the public would not support the bandh, and it was a move by political leaders. He contrasted this with the upcoming Jan Suraaj Party meetings, claiming that each would draw at least 20,000 attendees. Upon learning that state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal, whom he has been targeting over alleged medical college irregularities, became emotional and broke down in tears regarding the comments made against PM Modi’s mother, Kishor expressed his amusement. He suggested that Jaiswal should have taken the opportunity to address the allegations against him, and indicated his intention to release additional evidence against Jaiswal and other Bihar leaders. The Jan Suraaj Party has recently accused BJP leaders Dilip Jaiswal, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, West Champaran MP Sanjay Jaiswal, and JDU Rural Works Minister Ashok Chaudhary of serious accusations.
