TVS is gearing up for the launch of the Ntorq 150, a more powerful version of its popular scooter, aimed at expanding its product line. The sporty model is scheduled to be unveiled on Thursday, September 4th. The company has been generating interest with promotional materials, recently showcasing the scooter’s exhaust note. This particular sound is not often associated with scooters. As TVS prepares to launch the Ntorq 150, here’s what to expect from the upcoming scooter.
Design and Feature Preview: Early teasers displayed the redesigned headlamp cluster. The T-shaped housing, with a quad-LED setup, will give the upcoming Ntorq 150 a distinctive look compared to the current Ntorq 125. The new model is also expected to adopt a Maxi-style design rather than the smaller silhouette. In alignment with its rivals, the scooter is likely to be equipped with 14-inch wheels.
As the flagship ICE scooter from TVS, the Ntorq 150 is expected to be loaded with smart features. It might include a fully digital TFT display with Bluetooth support, powered by TVS SmartXonnect. This will allow riders to utilize navigation, receive call and text alerts, set service reminders, and more.
Expected Technical Specifications: The Ntorq 150 is likely to be powered by a new 150cc engine, representing TVS’s entry into the 150cc scooter segment, competing with models like the Hero Xoom 160, Aprilia SR 175, and Yamaha Aerox 155. The engine could be based on the 159.7cc unit found in the Apache range. This engine is expected to generate approximately 14–15 bhp.
Expected Price Point: The TVS Ntorq 150 is anticipated to be priced competitively, below Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), potentially due to a simpler engine design compared to its competitors. For reference, the Yamaha Aerox 155 is priced at Rs 1.51 lakh, while the Hero Xoom 160 is available at Rs 1.49 lakh (both ex-showroom).
