Cricket enthusiasts attending Indian Premier League (IPL) matches will experience a price increase due to a tax adjustment. The GST on IPL tickets has been raised from 28% to 40%. This financial alteration specifically targets IPL games, differentiating them from other cricket events that continue to be subject to an 18% GST. As a result, the price of tickets for IPL matches in 2026 will be more expensive. A ticket for INR 500 will now be priced at INR 700. A ticket for INR 1000 will now be INR 1400, and if a fan wants to buy a ticket for INR 2000 now it will cost INR 2800. This increase impacts all types of seats, from standard to premium hospitality. Fans are advised to purchase tickets in advance through official channels to secure their seats and avoid potentially higher prices from secondary markets.
