Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chief Minister, has expressed strong disapproval of the Lutti dam’s collapse in Balrampur-Ramanujganj. He has emphatically stated that similar mistakes will not be accepted in the future. He pointed out that the current situation is due to insufficient field inspections by the authorities. To rectify this, he has mandated that all officers and employees perform continuous inspections of the dams and related structures on-site.
The Chief Minister oversaw a detailed review of the Water Resources Department at the Mahanadi Bhawan. He provided guidance on maintaining and repairing irrigation projects. Discussions also covered the water storage capabilities of all dams, along with current irrigation conditions and the progress of forthcoming projects. He also instructed officials to strictly adhere to the Dam Safety Act 2021 and to strengthen collaboration with the district administration.
